To our valued community,
Over the years, M.A.C.T has flourished into an incredible team of volunteers, and we’re immensely grateful for each and every one of you. Your dedication has been the heartbeat of our organisation!
Annie, a crucial member of our team who has played a vital role in our operations, particularly in the areas of intake, recovery, and the care of our feline friends, has been presented with a fantastic opportunity for a 10-week summer internship in Tauranga related to her degree. We couldn’t be happier for her, but this means that from November ’23 until early February ’24, we’ll be operating at a reduced capacity.
Fear not! Our amazing team of volunteers has stepped up to the plate, dividing responsibilities such as kitten intake, trap loans, recovery, and various Alley Cats tasks. While we’ll still be in operation during this period, the Trap-Neuter-Return process will require the requesting party to handle the trapping aspect and desexing recovery themselves. Rest assured, we’ll be here to offer support and advice every step of the way.
Currently, we have almost 30 adorable cats and kittens under our care, including a pregnant unsocialised mother. Our dedicated foster team will continue their incredible work, ensuring these darlings find loving homes. Updates and adoption posts will still be a regular feature, and follow our current adoption protocol, so keep following our page for the latest news.
We understand that the upcoming months may pose challenges, and we may not be able to assist as many people during this kitten season.
Remember, we’re a volunteer-based charity, and none of us receive financial compensation for our efforts. For many of us, this is a “full-time job in our spare time.”
Although we may not physically be able to assist everyone, our advice is always free! Sometimes, all you need is a bit of guidance and support, and we’re here for that.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Together, we make a difference in the lives of these wonderful creatures.
