Kitten Intake

We are dedicated to helping kittens under 12 weeks of age who are born in backyards and have had minimal human contact. However, it’s important to understand that we do not take in unsocialised kittens over 12 weeks old for rehoming. Kittens and cats that have not experienced much human interaction by this age are much less likely to become socialised, and attempts to confine and tame them often lead to high levels of stress, raising serious welfare concerns.

As a small, volunteer-based rescue, we are unable to personally trap cats for kitten intake due to limited resources. While we wish we could provide this service, our time and volunteer constraints prevent us from trapping cats on your behalf. However, we are more than happy to lend you the necessary trapping equipment and offer guidance.

Please note that our equipment loans are for a two-week period, as we need to ensure traps are available for others in the community.

If the mother cat is present in your backyard, we can assist through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. It’s important to desex the mother to break the cycle of unwanted kittens. We cannot take in unsocialised adult cats for adoption, and we require that the mother is also desexed, returned, and cared for as part of the process. Our goal is to stop the cycle of unwanted litters, and desexing the mother is a key part of this mission.

Before we can accept kittens into our care, we’ll need a photo of them to determine if we are able to assist. Kittens over 12 weeks old will require TNR instead of rehoming.

Please note: All services are dependent on foster care availability and vet capacity. As a small rescue, our resources are limited, and we may not always be able to assist immediately. However, we’ll do our best to guide you toward a solution.
